My oldest daughter and I are the only ones in my family that feel safe even with regular Cruise Control

The point I'm trying to make here is "ANY assist of your driving can be hazardous" in any vehicle.

Why?

Because if you are distracted in ANY WAY such an assist can be fatal.

Even I have had some close calls with Cruise control when the lag time of it disengaging through the brake pedal or controls on the steering wheel were a little slower than I expected in a braking emergency.

So, the point I'm making is anything that works in a way you aren't expecting it to when you are distracted by a phone call or talking to someone in the vehicle about business or anything else that takes all or most of your attention could easily become fatal.

So, even cruise control in some situations is just too dangerous to have it engaged at certain times.

People are going to have to ascertain for themselves what is safe and what isn't and people who are more intellectual and less mechanical or logical or reasonable are likely going to have the worst time with this.

For example, having accidents when I was injured on my bicycle growing up prepared me the most for driving under all conditions.

Why?

Because I knew how painful these accidents were and so I knew what would happen to me in a larger vehicle accident so I wanted more than most people to prevent them and I did.

But, if you haven't had this experience of being injured on a bicycle or motorcycle then maybe you aren't in your body enough to protect yourself from reality in a larger vehicle where you might be lulled into feeling safe when you really are not.

So, this is something to think about too.
