why more remote workers are willing to move for more affordable housing

If you live in San Francisco it's about 3000 to 3500 dollars for even a 1 bedroom apartment but if you move to Portland Oregon you might get the same thing for 1000 to 1500 dollars. And if you move further into the country you might rent a place for even less. So, if you have a remote job where your job is online only then you might even move to another country for your job here in the U.S.

I know several people living in Europe and Australia for example, who are working for companies here in the U.S. who have relocated to other countries because rent is less there. I also know people who move to other states where it might be more remote and beautiful where there is no smog at all and where mountain lakes abound for fishing or boating or even to the deserts so winters aren't so harsh (theoretically). The reason I say theoretically is that deserts like for example Phoenix is now having much hotter summers which is killing Joshua Trees in Southern California and Saguaro  cactus around Phoenix Arizona now. So, if it's killing Joshua trees in California and Saquaro Cactuses in Arizona it's not helping people stay alive very much either if they don't have really good air conditioning. Also, it is dangerous to work outside (unless you work at night) in the summers in places like Phoenix or Palm Springs and even at midnight it is often 100 degrees both places.

The main point here is that remote workers are moving "All over the world" as long as they have good internet connections to have better lives without smog living in the country somewhere nice. This is a major change during the last 20 or more years I have noticed for people with computer skills of various kinds worldwide.

The thing is for your remote job you are going to be likely paid the same whether you live in New York City ( where likely it's  4500 dollars a month for a one bedroom apartment) or are paying 1000 dollars or less for a better 1 room apartment living in a place like Portland Oregon where taxes are going to be lower too and there is no tax on gasoline in Oregon either so it is a dollar less per gallon than California Gas for example.

Or maybe you want to move to Vienna Austria which is considered the most reasonable city to live in worldwide at this point where rent isn't too high and the coast of living is relatively low. This is what people are doing with remote jobs. They work anywhere the Internet connections are good and have better lives living anywhere on earth than in expensive big cities like New York, or San Francisco or even Los Angeles.
