The biggest rainfall (at least where I live on the Northern California coast was Wednesday about 4 to 5 pm while walking my dog on the ocean. Other than that it hasn't been much except some drizzle here and there but not enough to make any big mud puddles that I have seen (at least in my area along the ocean).
But, the plants are happy to be wet instead of dry so that's something and it also suppresses even more any fires too to have the ground and plants and trees wet like this. We also had the top of our chimney re-capped because the storms blew off the old chimney cap during the 15 Atmospheric rivers. So, it was good nobody was hit by the Metal chimney cap when it blew off and fell about 20 feet to the ground from the top of the chimney or so. So, now we are ready for the storms without rain going down our chimney so much as it would have without the new cap. We also had our roof inspected by roofers and the replaced any broken cement tiles on the roof that broke from people walking up there who aren't roofers and don't know how to walk on tiles without breaking them. So, we are ready for any atmospheric Rivers that might hit between now and May or June. also, I got our generator fixed so it starts again too because it hadn't been run since last March or April. The man at the shop said to start it about once every 2 weeks so the jets in the carburetor don't clog because this one has very small jets. So, I have started it about twice so far since it was repaired and serviced for this next rainy season.
Last year I bought a Yamaha 2200 which is likely the best generator I have owned so far that is a stand alone generator. I also bought a plastic shed to keep it and plastic Gas containers and some firewood in too. However, if I need to use the generator I will move likely at the very least the gas containers out of the plastic shed if I run the generator for safety.
I burned up a previous generator by using premium gasoline in it. So, be sure in most cases to ONLY use regular gas because Premium will burn up most generators over time so they won't work anymore. So, even though the smaller Yamaha 2200 is more expensive and a smaller generator it is much more dependable than any other larger generator that I have owned over the years. Great in an emergency when you need to not lose 500 to 1000 dollars worth of food in your refrigerator when trees are knocked down into power lines in heavy winds and stuff like that. Mine will run a refrigerator a lamp, wifi and my 60 inch Flat screen TV which has a Tivo. At one point last year the wifi and Cable TV went out for almost a week so I have about 500 to 1000 hours of stuff recorded on my Tivo so that was all we had to look at during the power and wifi outage last year for about one week.
