Luckily, the house we were renting for a month had a really good Rheem Air Conditioner which I think is gas so it's likely good that the Fire Department didn't have to turn off the gas when we got an appliance gas leak in the oven there caused by a previous renter messing with the stove in a way it wasn't designed to be messed with which endangered potentially everyone and anyone staying there after they did this.
So, even though it was in the 90s we stayed cool with the Natural Gas Air conditioner and we set it to around 75 degrees so we wouldn't get a cold when switching to outside which was around 90 to 100 degrees most days while there.
However, when I returned to Santa Barbara is was a very pleasant 74 degrees Fahrenheit which was perfect and the roses were still blooming and the bougainvillea was blooming nicely too. Here is what Bougainvillea looks like:
