waitress (2007)

I remember seeing this movie when it first came out and found it interesting. It's about a southern Girl a Waitress with a husband she doesn't like very much and she's a waitress. She gets pregnant and doesn't want to be. But, she decides to have the baby anyway. The movie starts out when she finds out she's pregnant at work with two other waitresses in the Restaurant Bathroom. It's on HBO Go right now if you have HBO on your TV you can put HBO Go tied to the email address on your computer you have your HBO tied to. So, you can presently watch this movie anytime you want to if you are set up this way already.

This movie might be upsetting to some people around the world. However, this sort of thing I saw a lot growing up in California in the 1950s and 1960s in many people. I don't see this among people I know now but most people I know now have been to college and are more educated than the waitresses in this movie (whatever that means in reality).

I guess what I'm saying is the women I know are much more aware of their rights and opportunities in life than the women in this movie. But, Common sense goes a long way to finding your life always which this movie also demonstrates.

Another interesting note regarding this movie is that Adrienne Shelley who is "Dawn" in this movie directed the movie and was murdered in Queens, New York in 2006.
