More people are injured by Bison(Buffalo) in Yellowstone than Grizzlies every year

Last year five visitors were seriously injured when they approached bison. In fact, more people have been harmed by bison during the last decade than grizzly bears. (Read more about problems in Yellowstone

Bison(Buffalo) are actually a lot like Rhinos in some ways. If you are seen as a threat to a herd by a male Alpha buffalo you will be knocked down and trampled and likely die. So, knowing when to run and either get into your car or truck or climb a tree if one is available might be important if you plan to get too near to Buffalo in Yellowstone National Park. They are wild they are not cattle. They are very different. If they could survive for hundreds of thousands of years on the plains of the U.S. you've got to know they can defend themselves against all animals as well as people (as long as the people aren't shooting at them right then.
