- This movie much like Terminator in the 1980s when it first came out really affected me because of what I know about computers and artificial intelligence from being a computer programmer back in the 1960s and early 1970s and a hobbyist programmer in various languages ever since 1966.However, maybe I should explain myself. The movie was upsetting much like the Terminator series is simply because it could very easily actually happen. However, in the case of Oblivion it wouldn't be an alien technology non living entity it would be humans developing autonomy for Artificial intelligence through military hardware and software.So, the danger here is specifically: Self Directed Autonomous Military drones on air, land, sea or space or even under the earth. If you watch or have watched Oblivion what if the danger didn't come from another planet but from robotics makers and programmers right here on earth doing exactly what you see in this movie?Notice there are almost no humans left at all.
