Trees Falling

Today I noticed a tree about 30 feet tall leaning over towards my neighbor's house likely on his property but maybe only by a foot or two. I walked closer and saw the roots on my property coming up out of the ground a foot or two. I looked up and saw it caught in 220 Volt wires leading to my neighbor's property and in his land line phone line and his cable TV as well. Later he came out and I said, "I think we should cut off that one limb so less weight will be pulling on your 220 lines going to your house. He agreed with me. He had already called the property owner's association and they were sending someone to help. He came but couldn't do anything because the tree was leaning so much into the wires because of liability laws. I finally got out my pole electric small chain saw that I use for cutting branches safely that are more than 10 feet high or ones that I simply want the distance to be safe cutting those branches so I'm not injured.

I cut off a 5 or 7 inch through branch so the wind wouldn't blow over the tree so easily then. And then I got up on an aluminum ladder and use a pole small chain saw to cut off a branch that was leaning on his power line to his house.

After that I considered doing another cut to the top of the tree but realized it would be 50-50 whether his power line would break if I did that.

His 50 something son arrived and I sort of turned it over to him and he called Pacific gas and Electric to come and cut down the tree safely to protect the power line which happened. The contracted with  Tree Removal and they came and quickly removed the tree by the time I got back from walking my dogs in the forest about sunset.
