So, CNN and Buzzfeed and a few others were left holding the bag because of this. Whoever released it to CNN and then to Buzzfeed likely knew it was misinformation. However, most people reading or hearing about it didn't know this and might never know this. So, this is how this kind of information takes on a life of it's own through the rumor mill. Democrats will generally think Trump is a pervert and Republicans are going to think whatever they are going to think. But, the end result is Trump's presidency has been harmed.
But, I don't think you can blame CNN for the problem. You have to dig deeper as to who actually released it without sharing the word "Disinformation" on the title. Whoever did this harmed CNN and Buzzfeed and all the people who now think Trump is more of a Creep than they did before.
Trump's approval rating is still dropping by the way to 35% now which is the lowest of any president Elect in history I believe at this point. I don't even see how he can govern with an approval rating (going into office) this low.
So, what is happening now is Trump is being stung by Fake News too which likely is going to continue throughout his presidency because it is in Russia's interests to weaken Trump in the eyes of Americans as much as possible. Putin wishes to completely destroy our system of governance through Trump.
It's up to all the citizens in the United States to NOT let this happen.
Trump may destroy his presidency with corruption as he is now doing by putting his business in his sons care, but it is up to us as Americans to protect our system of government with or without Trump.
To Trump the Presidency is ONLY a way to make a few billion dollars more, but to the rest of us it is our birthright to live in this democracy so we must protect it somehow for our children and Grandchildren. So, they still have a great place to live in.
