It might mean it will never be safe to live there again if chemicals got into your home or yard. There are some chemicals that there is no safe level you can be exposed to like 24d which contains dioxin which will cause mole pregnancies in women where they basically just have a horror movie as a child with 3 arms, 4 eyes, 4 legs and the like. Mostly they don't survive.
