This movie I found very comforting in that it somewhat was restoring my faith in
human nature after a year of Trump where a young man who has fallen in love with a female star in Hollywood is dumped by her and DOESN'T act out and harm himself or others but instead goes to I think Michigan? to help take care of his ailing grandmother instead. As he is caring for her he meets Meg Ryan and her daughter Kristen STewart who both sort of fall in love with him in a way because he is young (26) and thoughtful unlike many men.
So, this movie was sort of a catharsis for me because it is easy for me to become cynical and sort of get into a head space like "All Men are assholes and God help me I'm one of them" which isn't helpful in creating a better world than the one we presently live in. This movie's thoughfulness helps create a better world for everyone.
