I think that more people are dying of the weather worldwide but less here in the U.S. Why does this make sense?

Because people in the U.S. are better educated and better informed than most other places ahead of time regarding tornadoes, Blizzards like in Buffalo, New York last winter, atmospheric Rivers like in California, Droughts like in the Western United States. Floods on the east coast and the west coast this year etc. And now hurricanes like Hurricane Hilary in Mexico and California and now Hurricane Lee heading north towards the U.S. south and East.

However, many people around the world are less educated and have less TVs and internet and radios plus they don't have things like FEMA to help rebuild what is destroyed by storms. So, even if storms hit here often Fema will help people not starve to death or go bankrupt and die as much after the fact of the weather event whatever it is. So, even if people in another country don't die in the orginal event they are likely to be destroyed (economically) which can contribute to the deaths over time of whole families in other countries.

Here is more on Tropical Storm Lee expected to become a Category 5 Hurricane by next Sunday.
