I really like some "Black" Comedies

By Black Comedies I'm not talking about racially black but rather the subject is kind of dark. For example, "True Lies" is the kind of black comedy I like or "Barry" on HBO is the kind of Black Comedy which is actually usually a comedy Drama with "Black humor".

So far, I've got my wife and my son to watch this series. I haven't been able to get too excited about TV much this year except for a few things here and there and movies. I'm not sure what it is but maybe it's because I have been watching stuff on TV since the 1950s since 1952 when my grandfather bought a black and white TV to watch the Republican Convention and the Election of General Eisenhower from World WAR II become president. So, this is how TV was introduced to me at age 4, not with cartoons but being forced to watch a Republican Convention which still was more interesting than watching Nothing. I didn't start watching TV regularly until El Cajon in 1953 when I was 5 in kindergarten at my friend Danny Barsocks in El Cajon. But then we moved to Tujunga when my parents were put in charge of a church in Los Angeles and this is where my parents finally bought our own first black and white TV in 1954.

For example, it is just so incongruous that Barry (an Afghanistan war soldier returned from the war) falls in love immediately with an actress while she is cussing out her lines for a rehearsal and then wants to be an actor even though he is a "Hit man" from Cincinnati, Ohio. And then he comes to Los Angeles and does a hit for a Chechen Gang which is even more incongruous than falling in love with an actress and wanting to become and actor for himself while also being a "Hit man".

I also liked the movie "Grosse Point Blank"

which is a John Cusack and Minnie Driver movie which is another Black Comedy as well.
