Writing as Therapy

In my life my father and my grandfather (his father) were story tellers. So, I grew up with this tradition of being able to tell stories and entertain people because my father and Grand father were both very intelligent and Charismatic men good at entertaining people (before Television existed) and my grandfather before radio existed that much.

So, being a storyteller is what I'm good at. I was discovered by my 4th grade teacher in regard to this talent of entertaining people with what I write.

So, I used to try to heal myself by writing things that entertained or healed me along the way.

Also, I would write about things I didn't understand because I didn't always have people to talk to about my problems because I was an only child growing up. Sometimes I had friends close enough to talk to about almost anything and sometimes not.

So, the things I could talk to friends about I did and the things I felt I couldn't talk to them about often I wrote about to try to make sense of my life.

So, it was often a form of Self Therapy.

Also, since my father was Valedictorian of his High School he taught me to think in really interesting ways too by always debating with me from about age 8 onwards.

No matter what side I took of an issue he could always take the other side because of his intelligence.

In this way I learned how many different sides there are to any question, political or religious or philosophical or whatever.

So, in this way I saw just how diverse the world really was and this prepared me for world travel too.

So, I didn't get stuck in any one way of thinking but instead became a Free thinker like my father.

Writing can heal your soul and often heal other people's souls too.

So, if you have this talent make good use of it if you can to help mankind.
