Why?
It's pretty obvious now. As more and more business people have looked at Brexit, they see financial disaster for Great Britain. Yes. If they leave the EU they have their pride but that's all.
Having your pride while your nation goes bankrupt really changes things.
The Brexit vote was about British Pride. But, if you are starving and your people are starving, that's only death now isn't it.
So, unless Britons swallow their pride, their nation state is basically over at this point. They need to be a part of the EU to economically survive this century at all.
The world has changed so much they won't survive if they aren't a part of the EU.
This is just a fact of life like the fact that America as a democracy won't survive unless it impeaches Trump.
