This is what people looked like in the 1950s listening to their transistor radios

Teen listener, 1950s
Teen listener, 1950s
I had a yellow one something like this transistor radio. Another interesting thing is that transistors were "discovered" the same year as Roswell happened 1947. I always that that was maybe more than a coincidence too.

I would walk to school or tape the thing to my bike handle or if I had a basket or pocket I would put it there and listen to it riding down the street on my bike. If I felt or was asked by someone not to play it out loud I might if I was walking at the time pull out my single Mono Earphone and listen to the music in one ear. (which is what a lot of us did when our parents thought we were sleeping. So, We could read comic books or young adult books while listening to Music which was great too, whether we were walking or riding bicycles or even riding in the car even in the 1950s once these little jewels became available.

My father didn't like rock and Roll so he would say something racist and anti-rock n Roll like "Turn off that Jungle Bunny music" which was what white parents often said about rock and roll because they thought it was bad and corrupting of our youth in the 1950s then.

Obviously, the 1950s were not at all like things are today.

So, I continued to listen to rock n Roll Secretly as an act of rebellion against my father. Over time he had to let me listen to rock and roll because I just got too big for him to stop me. I also rebelled against the racism of white people against other groups as well because I thought racism caused wars like World War I and II.

Racism I believe is the same as being angry at another ethnic group even if you are both the same race. For example the Irish, the Scottish, The Italians and the Spanish were discriminated against by the English Descendants who lived in the U.S. before and after it became the United States.

If you study history it's all there, including people of different ethnic groups having their homes burned down because some other ethnic group didn't like them.

This is why there are different ethnic ghettos of all kinds in big cities all over the U.S. This is how all this started. Each ethnic group banded together to protect their own families and homes from harm by competing ethnic groups.

So, the best way to put this is the U.S. is a mighty miracle that we could literally get all countries peoples to fight together in wars to protect the U.S. from harm. This is one reason why all the ethnic groups pulled together in the U.S. to fight in World War I and II to protect our nation. Even Native Americans as bad as they were treated fought to protect and save our nation from harm.

So, this is why I call the United States a Miracle!

So, the big wars ended the ethnic rivalry a lot between groups (especially of the same race).
