Snow level about 8000 feet on Mt. Shasta

I was talking with a friend today about skiing and he was saying that there wasn't enough snow to do the Bunny Flat to lower Sand Flat Route yet. He said there was likely only around 5 inches of snow at Bunny Flat and at most a foot of snow at Horse Camp Sierra Club Lodge.

So, Bunny Flat is around 6900 Feet and they have received a lot of rain but not much snow. I asked him if he had used his snow blower in town yet and he said "No" he hadn't. It's not unusual for snow not to have fallen and stuck enough to do this by December. However, it is less normal to have such a little bit of snow up to 8000 feet this time of year so it shows just how warm the pineapple express storms have been hitting California this Early Winter so far. (I think Winter usually starts with the Winter Solstice on December 21st.
