The high King Tide was 7.8 feet this morning. Normal is a tide of 3 to 4 feet in height up and down.

This was likely the highest tide I have ever witnessed where I live in the Greater SF BAy region.

All the beaches I prefer to walk on are now gone from the high tides (about 99 percent of the Sand is gone now). Presently it's all rocks and boulders which is all that's left presently of the beaches here.

I took photos to share online with relatives and friends because it is very impressive just how much sand is now gone until next summer or fall depending upon the storms and weather. In the summers and falls sand usually returns to many of the beaches depending upon how bad the storms were the previous winter.

So, where there was sand a few days or weeks ago (even last night before sunset when I walked my dog). For now, it's all gone until next summer or fall depending upon weather and winds and surf.

However, the waves were the best I have seen for surfing so the surfers were having a great time this morning with really big well formed waves to surf.

If the 40 foot waves had hit here during this 7.8 foot high tide it really would have been a disaster for residents whose homes are close to the ocean. However, there are 7.6 high tides still coming in the next day or two also so we will see if all the houses can survive in what is coming.
