TGV HIgh Speed Trains in France

My first experience on a high speed Train was not here in the U.S. but in France when we took the TGV high speed train from Paris to Nice on the Cote "D'Azure (French Riviera) or literally Coast of Blue or Azure. AT the time my experience was one of wonder. First you notice there are no wheels really because it is riding on anti-gravity or anti-magnetic rails sometimes called Mag-Lev for "Magnetic Levitation". Since there is literally no friction because of no really rail wheels speed of 200 miles per hour can be achieved on many of these high speed trains around the world.

What does it feel like? It is sort of like getting in a jet plane and reaching runway speed just before takeoff only staying on the ground. There is also an electric humming or whine you hear while all this is going on. It's a little disorienting at first because unless you look far away (not up close) you are moving so fast that everything is a blur except far away. So, this can be disorienting until you get used to it, (if you do).

Also, we found that we didn't have to go through a French TSA to board the trains so this saved a lot of time in boarding and leaving the train. So, we actually got to Nice Faster than we would have on a plane by doing this. So, in trips under about 700 miles or so often a Bullet Train or High speed train is actually faster than traveling by plane.
