Note: I'm not trying to give away any of the plot here but after reading what I wrote you might not want to read what I wrote until AFTER you see this movie if you are going to.
I saw Captain Marvel for the 2nd time today with friends who hadn't seen it yet. So, it was fun. For me, I likely would enjoy seeing this movie about 3 times total as long as I'm taking friends who haven't seen it before to see it. (So maybe one time more in a theater maybe in Mt. Shasta if I go with friends who haven't seen it yet if it is still playing when I return there).
I like the way this movie demonstrates Shapeshifters and manipulation of people's memories. Because both of these things have always happened here on earth. So, seeing it as It has always been here thousands of years back into human history is always interesting.
In other words on one level what happens in this movie is not very far fetched because people being kidnapped off of earth has been going on for thousands of years or possibly 100,000 to 200,000 years already. So, watching this movie is sort of like a chronicle of what has been happening for thousands of years already to people here on earth. I think they call Earth C-53 as a planet designation in this movie by the way. And one Alien Soldier calls Earth a "Shithole" planet) in their comparison to other planets.
However, that isn't a universal point of view. The more common point of view to tourist aliens would be that earth is "Wild" and "quaint" and relatively peaceful as planets go.
