Started raining again really heavily about 11 pm Friday Night March 1st 2019
My wife noticed it first and then I went out to see it. Then I looked at the radar and was worried about Santa Barbara specifically Montecito and friends who live there. We are likely okay here but seeing the 40 or 50 trees I hadn't seen down before in a golf Course nearby that are 1 or 2 feet in diameter (in other words trees likely 50 to 100 years old already and very tall mostly blown down with their roots pulled right out of the ground makes me nervous as we have more and more storms here on the ocean over time. As these atmospheric river storms keep coming it is almost like there is no end to them what with the Russian River Flooding and Guerneville's 2000 homes that spent most of the week underwater and all that and even Interstate 5 closing in some places because of flooding etc. So, most places have now surpassed any rain received by this time during ANY year in the 1990s when the rains came down like this before the drought began around 2000 for California. So, once again people are worried we are in for another 1862 superflood year here in California this time. I'd say at this point there is 1 chance in 10 they might be right.
