If you get ideas for your writings, it's good in the moment to write an idea down on a napkin or on the back of a grocery bag (that's how Arcane Started in 1980 by the way) or now we have smartphones to record your ideas into a recording on your Iphone or tape recorder as long as you can find them when you need to develop your ideas further. Also, it's always important to print out your very first rough draft of whatever you are writing in case it is lost somehow on your computer. So, make it a point to always have your first draft on paper somewhere special. This is also important if you go crazy editing some way or late at night and edit your work to death so you  have your original to to back to when you are saner and not cutting everything good up maybe late at night.

Knowing when you have something good is a matter of discernment. However, editing something to death without an original copy to refer back to is just stupid so don't do it if you want to have something good in the end.

Also, if you let someone you love destroy your work that often leads to a breakup or a divorce because they are not you and only you can edit your work and maybe then be happy with it (or not).

In the end we are all different so be careful with your baby you just wrote about because for me when I write it is like writing about one of my children (or one of my past lifetimes in the past, present or future). So, writing for many of us is a very personal thing.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? It's usually both.

Note: One easy way to be able to find your recordings is to video them on an IPhone or smarphone that way if you put something initially in the video that you can recognize you can more easily find which video you recorded specific Ideas on. But, since I take very few videos but a lot of pictures on my smartphone this works pretty good for me. Also, if you come up with a song spontaneously you can sing it into your phone through a video and this works pretty good too. Or you could add musical instruments like a Guitar or piano or an organ like I sometimes do and sing away or verbally write down Ideas through your video for lyrics or books or articles or whatever you want to do.
