This brings up a situation where our house keeper said to us: "I'm going to have to work until I die!"
My answer to her was: "That's bullshit! What you do in life is always a choice."
However, later I had to think about that more because many people get into ruts and cannot think 'Outside the Box" which is often what you have to do in order to retire in the first place.
And 2nd, people who are workaholics are often dead within 5 years of retirement if they suddenly stop doing what they are used to doing.
In other words, "not everyone can actually adapt to being retired".
My way of putting this would be: "Imagine that you are a school aged child and you had Winter and Summer vacations forever until you died."
This is the best way I can describe: "Retirement".
In otherwords many people either eat or sleep or drink themselves to death or worry themselves to death if they retire when they should not.
So, knowing who you are and what works for you is likely whether you can survive retirement or not.
So, the good news when you are retired is you are retired and the bad news when you are retired is that you are retired.
So, unless you see retirement as a complete paradox in itself you might not find ways to survive it on any level.
But, if you have enough money and are the right kind of person who can actually be retired and survive it, it can be a really amazing thing if you know what you are doing.
