In some ways it is like walking around in a world where most people are blind or close to blind whereas most of the time you see perfectly clearly.
So, as you see all the time around you people metaphorically fall into holes some of which they don't come up out of. So, it is kind of like that where you feel sorry for people because they don't have your perceptions or abilities. Also, it's kind of lonely in that you watch people you know dying or being maimed or worse all the time around you through the years.
Don't get me wrong. We are all immortal souls in human bodies living here on earth. But, most people are mortal in that sometime after they are born they won't be around anymore whether that is within the first year or at 120 years of age.
So, what can we do while we are here on earth to help the plight of mankind?
One of the things we can do is to reduce suffering like both Jesus and Buddha recommended we do.
Learning to first be kind to ourselves and also learning to be kind and polite to others is a way we save not only our own lives but also the lives of those around us every single day.
