So, one of the ways to name the last 3 years of job losses in the U.S. would be the economic disempowerment of men in companies nationwide. The cultural effects of this have been widespread and likely will continue to be from this.
One of the positive effects of this is that there are now more business startups in the U.S. than any time during the last 15 years. And since the epicenter for these startups is Los Angeles County California, California might once again lead the nation out of the recession like it has almost every recession for the last 30 years or more.
However, there is also an insidious side to these job losses as well. First of all, women are less likely to go postal if more of their rights are taken away. They might go to court if they can afford to, but they are much much less likely to be angry and violent if they feel they are being wrongly treated than men in general.
So, for example, let's say a man lays off all the male workers that he can get away with in his business or corporation (I think you are beginning to see some of the problems already), then he reformats his business in a way in which no woman could or would fight (even though almost any man or group of men would possibly even with violence if necessary fight those exact changes). So, these less violent women are pushed into situations of all kinds that they might not wish to be in, but since their significant other (husband?) has just been laid off by the same company or another, the women left employed will almost put up with anything. So, here you can see where the problems of what our country and world has just experienced the last 3 or 4 years now is just beginning now to reckon with.
So, let's hope some of those startup businesses in Los Angeles and other places get successful so they can hire some of those men and women back to work who have been out of work a long long time now.

Are you still proud to be an American as you stand idly by and do nothing as 5,000 jobs are lost at the hands of our government? Take a stand, contact your congressional representatives and inform them about what is happening and tell them that you want action.

What is great about America is that there is always hope for a better future here. This isn't always true in other places on earth. So, even though 78% of the jobs lost were men's jobs, most women still have their jobs or were hired to replace the men. So, at least someone still has a job. What the future will bring I don't know. However, since I'm 62 years old I have seen some pretty strange things already in America. What is best about America is that we know how to adapt to anything. We are ultimately pragmatic. But we've had it pretty easy since World War II. And we are going through a pretty rough patch since 9-11. It makes one long for the 1990s.
