radiation per hour

Crowdsourcing Radiation in Japan
  • Tokyo: 3/24 ~0.138 µSv/h #
  • Osaka: 3/24 ~0.049 µSv/h #
  • Kyoto: 3/24 ~0.038 µSv/h #
  • Fukushima: 3/23 ~0.8-103 µSv/h #Radiation levels vary widely, see source
  • Sendai: 3/23 ~0.13 µSv/h #
  • Hokkaido: 3/24 ~0.023 µSv/h #

If I take the readings according to this crowdsourcing site of .138 for Tokyo and use .13 for Sendai and since these are hourly readings bring them down to the more manageable reading of .1
Then I multiply this .1 reading per hour which brings me a 2.4 reading every day by multiplying by the 24 hours in a day. Then I multiply this daily 2.4 (lower than actual) average by 30 days we get a 72 per month reading.

Houston, we have a problem. Because the maximum allowed for Nuclear workers in the U.S. is 50.

So, from Tokyo to Sendai 4 months of this average would bring 4X72= 288 which is 5.76 times the allowable radiation limit for nuclear workers in the U.S. and 38 above what workers at Fukushima nuclear power plant are allowed to have been exposed to(250) before they are asked to permanently leave. Houston we have a problem!
