When you polarize into the Republican or Democratic Camps in Wisconsin you don't get a real picture of exactly what is going on.
To put it more succinctly, States can no longer afford to pay full retirement or full medical benefits to retired state workers. So, how does one solve this problem since States are not allowed to go bankrupt?
The Republicans have a solution-kill public employee unions nationwide. But that only sets up a precedent for the ultimate death of the middle class in America. Because the Unions of the United States were always the beginning basis of a middle class in America.
So, if you just gut the unions you spit on the graves of all those workers who died for those rights for more than 100 years or more now.
However, the other side of it is if the states don't find a way to balance their budgets they will go bankrupt. Many to most states are presently facing a 20% deficit this year. So, you will see more of this kind of thing likely in other states.
I think neither the Republicans nor the Democrats are being completely honest about all this, and until the whole issue is laid bare to the point of everyone screaming and hopefully no one dying, there isn't going to be a practical solution that will help this nation instead of what it is presently doing_DESTROYING THIS NATION BY TEARING APART LONG FOUGHT FOR RIGHTS!
And we aren't there yet. There is still too much dishonesty on both sides to create a useful practical solution. This present solution is not a useful solution and is bound to cause violence worse than the late 1960s and early 1970s. That is my sense of all this.
Imagine this. What if your grandfather or greatgrandfather died fighting for unionization and the company owners who killed him were never brought to justice. How are you going to feel about all this?
This just isn't going to sit well with union members nationwide. We have to find another way to deal with this or it will explode into something no one can control. Let's be wise not ridiculous!
Wisconsin defeat could help launch counterattack on GOP
The Above article starting with "Wisconsin defeat could" is an interesting read. It just validifies the fact that the Wisconsin solution isn't the end of this. I agree states can no longer afford the affects of collective bargaining combined with almost unlimited videos from unions during election seasons. No state has an effective defense to this one two combo. Unless public employee unions stop holding states hostage in this way they will cease to exist. I don't know what the solution will be, but just destroying unions completely by permanently ending collective bargaining by itself will only turn America into another Banana Republic and return us to the Tommy gun days of Al Capone kinds of behavior like Mexico is experiencing now. Killing unions isn't the permanent answer for anyone. It's like killing a fly with a cannon. It takes out the whole house and no one has anywhere to live!

Said the president of the AFL-CIO: "I guess I ought to say thank you particularly to Scott Walker. We should have invited him here today to receive the Mobilizer of the Year award from us!" end quote.
