It is funny how each of us depending upon who raises us has different versions of this.
For me, like many little children, the idea of a soul was sacrosanct and unquestionable at the time. By the time I was about 9 or 10 years of age I had come to the realization that most religious people were actually crazy because I had a more scientific point of view about life and I found religious people (especially in the 1950s) were dying like flies because they wouldn't go to doctors at all. So, this is why I thought religious people were crazy because I watched them die one by one, all the beautiful people often dying in their 20s to 40s in age without any scientific bone in their bodies. People were very afraid then and very ignorant and watching all these people needlessly die young made me even more scientific in my thinking because there is a certain PTSD to watching people die when you are young. It changes you a lot. But, then I got blunt trauma childhood epilepsy myself and then I expected that I was going to die too.
So, in desperation I reached out to God because I was going to die. In the process I discovered God, I discovered soul and I even discovered Soul Travel eventually becoming proficient at this by age 20 to 22 years of age. So, soul no longer was a theoretical thing but a scientific thing to me that I could experience and quantify. So, I was no longer afraid of death at all because I knew from experience that I had an immortal soul because I had soul traveled in it and still do.
However, after 10 years of soul traveling the Galaxy and eventually beyond I realized I was already everywhere. There was no reason to go anywhere because I was already in all time and space. So, this was a major experiential realization that completely changed my life too. But, it took 10 years of soul traveling to convince me of this.
What we learn as humans on earth is a lie. We are not limited to this body it is only a reference point for us in reality. Though we should care for it like we would care for a car or plane that took us all over the world to new and wonderful places it is still our plane or our car and we are beyond this vehicle we ride around in. But, if we don't care for our bodies and exercise and feed them organic healthy food we will suffer for it as long as we live in our bodies here on earth.
So, Yes!
Our souls are real and they are immortal if we take care of them, and yes our bodies will serve us well to as vehicles of transportation here on earth (or beyond) if we feed them properly and think good thoughts so our bodies can survive and be happy here.
It's all about nourishing our souls and our bodies with things helpful to us that won't harm us as souls or bodies here on earth and beyond.
Understanding this is everything because we are immortal souls in the end.
