The BBC has found local people taking the clear-up operation after India's cyclone Phailin into their own hands. The cyclone wrecked many coastal homes, uprooted trees and blocked roads in Andhra Pradesh and Orissa states.

The BBC has found local people taking the clear-up operation after India's cyclone Phailin into their own hands.

The cyclone wrecked many coastal homes, uprooted trees and blocked roads in Andhra Pradesh and Orissa states.
A disaster management authority official said 14 people had died, 13 of them in Orissa.
Some have begun to return to their homes, from where Andrew North reports.
