Political Correctness:Thought Police?

I was listening to the commentary about a white Rapper Eminem today and thought I should write something to make sense of this from someone raised in the 1950s. It reminds me in a sense of "Fahrenheit 451" where all the books were burned   so no one was allowed to read anything.

Here is the problem as I see it. If you Force People to only have an "Acceptable Point of View" then you are creating a problem of "LIVING A LIE" because people are in their minds and hearts going to feel and think whatever they do even if publicly they are no longer allowed to express it because of political correctness.

In the 1950s here in the U.S. we erred in the direction of Free Expression and Rugged Individualism so we actually had many different points of view. I never felt personally threatened by that Now, this is no longer true because if you deviate from the present Political Correctness rampant in today's society you might be arrested for having a different point of view or beat up or sued for having a different point of view.

I think Politcal correctness in regard to race relations and being Gay is useful in that it prevents murders of Gay People and Black people in secret especially. However, political correctness leads not to what people actually want but to living a lie because many people who are afraid of other types of people won't actually have politically correct feelings. They will only socially be forced to pretend they have politically correct feelings which will not be genuine.

So, society hasn't really changed at all. People's feelings are going to be exactly the same. You are only changing outward behavior by forced political correctness and it is true this will save many lives of minority groups once harmed physically in the past. But, it is important to know that nothing has really changed. What people were afraid of in the past often people around the world are still afraid of and forcing them to talk and act differently doesn't change anything at core it just saves lives.

So, just know you are saving lives by forcing people to live a lie. However, acting is what people often do best in life. There isn't much genuiness left in anything compared to when I grew up in the 1950s.

Also, telling lies to young people only makes them more confused as they grow up and might make them unable to deal with the truth and physical reality in other countries not confused who kill and where people actually express their true emotions where people die of other races and sexual preferences.

You cannot mask people's actual emotions and fears without causing serious psychological disturbances in societies around the world. Unless these behaviors are genuine and not forced there will be hell to pay of various kinds in the present and future. However, for now, many lives of minorities of all kinds are being saved around the world even though it makes many fearful and uneducated people confused with severe psychological problems too.

So, if people understand that political correctness creates physical peace and saves lives while driving many uneducated people towards craziness and dysfunctionality then we more understand what is actually taking place in the western world.

I sort of equate all this to Seat Belts in a car or truck. You wear the seat belts so that you will have less chance of dying in an accident. But, has anyone looked at the psychological problems a child gets from being forced to be strapped into a car seat from babyhood on? This is also a problem and makes young people often victims in their thinking ongoing into adulthood. Without the risk taker attitude all you are creating is young robots perfectly designed to be slaves to a robotic controlled future world. Safety taken to it's extreme only brings slavery of all of us in the human race in the future.

So, what I'm saying is that there are unintended consequences here for Earth's civilizations. Is the medicine worse than the disease? I'm not sure of the long term answer. In the short term it saves lives at a terrible cost to truthfulness and individual psychological health. However, if you stop people from killing people maybe you have succeeded even if you drive millions of people insane by repressing their true feelings.

Maybe this is why so many people take mood altering drugs and because of taking those drugs commit suicide worldwide?

Many of the present parameters of the Western World are fundamentally flawed and many people (millions) will suicide likely before we get it right.
