Very unusually warm and droughty in Northern California

This is the first year in the last 14 years where I have lived in the same home on the Northern California Coast that my plants seem to be dying even though I am watering them. Where I live there is a natural spring usually that waters their roots. But, since there has been no measurable rain (enough to maintain the ground water) since about January or February I'm watching plants (not trees) start to wither even if they are watered once a week like I usually do during summers.

The other interesting thing is the weather. Normally, (is anything normal anymore?) this time of year it should be starting to get colder with winter coming on, and often it does do that at night. But, during the days it is sunny and almost always above 70 degrees for a high Fahrenheit which is pretty unusual for this time of year as well. Usually, by Halloween and Thanksgiving it is our coldest temperatures of the year (seems like it at least) but so far this isn't the case this year with weather staying in the 70s or above during the day on the coast and 80s or above inland.

So, whatever you want to call it (global climate change or Global Warming) appears to be here to stay(at least for now) here on the Northern California Coast.
