You might want to include India in this but India is a special case because when Ghandi took over from the British this completely changed the dynamics of India to be it's own nation of now over 1 billion people so though it is still one of the English Speaking nations only the most educated of Indians tend to speak English in India, even though it is likely still the least offensive of the 300 languages spoken there still. Historically, there have been many many feuds between the speakers of these 300 languages and because England eventually gave India to Ghandi it stopped being a colony at this time when Gandhi and Nehru took over India from the British I believe just after World War II and became it's own thing (sort of like how China is it's own thing too) around the same time China also developed it's own identity in the present world era right after world War II. In China Mao Tse Tung won out and in India Ghandi and later Nehru won out.
Whereas Canada, Australia and New Zealand were all colonies of the crown a long long time.
The only reason America broke off from England is primarily the madness of King George of England and the fact that we had taxation from England with no government representation in England which became a battle cry of "NO taxation without representation!"in the Revolutionary War.
But by the early 1830s most problems between England and the United States had been ironed out and then we came to their rescue in World War I and II which greatly helped all the colonies especially England. Ever since World War II America has been England's best friend on earth.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
