...FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR THE RECENT BURN AREAS OF SOUTHWESTERN
CALIFORNIA THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY...

.Periods of rain are expected, heavy at times in LA County today
and in all areas later tonight into early Sunday. As a result,
there is an elevated risk of flash flooding with mud and debris
flows in and around recent burn areas. In addition, roadway
flooding is likely, especially in low lying areas, along with rock
and mudslides on canyon roads and below steep terrain.
The river gauge on the Ventura River at Foster park reported a
water height above flood stage earlier today and flooding was
observed at the RV Park near Highway 101. However, flood waters
have receded and are expected to remain below monitor stage
through the rest of the weekend.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE RECENT BURN AREAS
THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* The Thomas, Sherpa, Whittier and Ventura County side of the
Woolsey burn areas.

* Through 4 AM PST Sunday.

* Peak rainfall rates may exceed critical thresholds, mainly after
midnight.

* Shallow mud and debris flows are likely across the recent burn
areas. There is the potential for more significant and damaging
debris flows. Rockslides and mudslides will be likely, bringing
an increased threat of road closures.
Flash flooding and debris flows will be a particular threat in
and below the recently burned areas.
Southern California residents, in or below the recently burned
areas are urged to take the steps necessary to protect their
property. Persons in the watch area should remain alert and
follow directions of emergency preparedness officials.
