We don't usually need Air conditioners where I live on the Northern California coast

Why? Because summer time lately from about May 1st onward until about now Late August or September it tends to be foggy and somewhat cold in the 50s and 60s Fahrenheit all the time pretty much.

However, all this changed when the hurricane came up Baja California through San Diego towards Cathedral City across the deserts towards points north up the Sierras and even caused a major mudslide of miles down Mt. Shasta all the way to Mt. Shasta High School and left rocks and mud in the High School parking lot after several miles through Macbride Springs across Everitt memorial Highway on down the mountain to the town.

However, finally the temperatures in the house have gotten below around 72 to 74 degrees after about 2 weeks of them being 74 or 75 in the house which is somewhat unusual.

So, tonight even with the screened windows closed we were finally able to bring the temperatures inside down to about 70 degrees which is not a bad temperature over night. Normally we keep the temperature in the house between about 67 and 70 year around by using the central heating system. It's presently 58 degrees outside in the middle of the night.
