It means that I see all religions as political in some ways and ways for people to make money preying upon the fears of other people who want to go to heaven who are insecure about their present and future lives here on earth and beyond.
And instead you don't need a priest or minister or church to make you holy you become holy unto yourselves by forming a clear relationship with God and his angels and if you are Christian in thought and deed then you also have Jesus as an ongoing part of your life too.
But, the main thing here is you don't need any Church or any minister or any Priest telling you what to do because you are doing that for yourself because you are not ignorant but well informed and so you can do your own research because you are educated enough to find out about God for yourself and not leave it to someone else to do this for you.
So, for me, being "Spiritual but not Religious" means you are your own religion and you speak with God and Angels Directly and ask them what do to maybe on a daily or minute by minute basis.
Instead of being "worthy" only on Sundays at Sunday School you are "Worthy in the eyes of God" every moment of every day ongoing because God is always with you in every moment and you are never alone.
This is what being "Spiritual but not religious" means to me.
