Important things to know about the VA Scandal

Basically the problem is not really what you see in the news.

The first thing is that Republicans refuse to vote enough money for VAs to function properly.

One of the reasons they do this is so things like this happen on Democratic Watch while a Democratic President is in power.

Then they can say it is the fault of the Democratic president and Congress.

However, this is very hypocritical because the VA system was never funded or designed to house or treat as many veterans as we have now of constant fighting since about 2001. Then we had the 2008 Great Recession and our actual funding for Veterans likely was dropped by Republicans during this time in order to keep our country afloat.

Then in order to become advanced in the ranks of the VA some executives found out that by telling lies or having cooked the books and thereby (pretending to run those hospitals more efficiently) they might advance in the ranks of VA executives by lying or cooking the books or having two sets of books.

However, then people started dying in droves because they weren't be treated and just couldn't stay alive and either committed suicide (as soldiers often do) or just succombed to waiting to see a doctor or any other number of ways.

PTSD and head Traumas and missing limbs are very expensive to treat ongoing. So, likely these would be the ailments (the tip of the iceberg) of what we are dealing with here for veterans.

But, the problem is not what anyone says it is. The problem is there are not the funds allocated to actually treat the number of veterans we now presently have since 2001. And this is sure to get only worse because the Republicans will NEVER vote for the funding no matter how much they blame Obama for it.

So, like I said this is very hypocritical of Republicans to be so for Veterans in Public but in private they are just letting them DIE one by one in reality.

So, the problem is not Shinseki or any other Administrator. It doesn't really matter who you put in charge of the VA. The problem is only funding and paying for doctors to see patients.
