Cohen: This is 5 time more dangerous than the Cold War: On CNN

The reason Mr. Cohen gave for this on CNN just now at between 4:30 and 4:45 Pacific time on Erin Burnett's CNN TV show is that the likely scenario looks something like this:

The U.S brings in troops into Poland and near Ukraine and surrounding countries so Putin cannot do what he is now doing to Ukraine in Crimea to those countries too.  Imagine 50,000 American troops there assisted by NATO Troops from Britain, France and maybe Holland and remotely Germany. What Happens next? Russia puts in 150,000 troops staring eyeball to eyeball across those borders.

In other words "Nothing this potentially bad has happened in the world since the "Cuban Missile Crisis". This isn't some run of the mill crisis here. This is potentially an Earth killer if Putin and Obama and Merkel and all the others don't get their act together very soon.

The problem as I see it is the world didn't just come out of World War II. The world didn't just finish dealing with a 45 or more year Cold War. WE have had 24 years of relative peace. The only people in government now who have had any dealing with this kind of thing are people like Biden and other governmental officials in the Congress of the United States. Clinton didn't have to deal with this. George Bush II didn't have to deal with this. And Obama hasn't had to deal with this and neither have the new Congressional members. And because of this all the newbies (since 1990 might get us all killed) as a direct result of their inexperience in dealing with something like this for 24 years now.

Note: Unfortunately, the kinds of people we need about now are Nixon, Kissinger, Reagan and a few others like that who actually would know just how to deal with Putin without us all dying. Kennedy got us through the "Cuban Missile Crisis" and then likely was assassinated for getting us out of it while embarrassing

I would say it is similar times now. And that is pretty scary to have to say.
