As a person who sometimes flies Internationally, what I'm learning this week about the two with stolen passports aboard the missing Malaysian jet, it makes me more security conscious than ever about who I will choose to fly with in the future. For example, I would be more sure (unless it was some kind of emergency trip) to make sure wherever I was flying from was checking Interpol for valid passports aboard my flight. This way each passenger flying internationally could be more sure of their safety while flying anywhere and back.
The latest news (from CNN) appears to be an Iranian man who used to live in Thailand, purchased these two tickets over the phone from Iran (or at least called to make the reservations.) He had lived in Thailand a couple of years but now is thought to be back in Iran. However, no one is completely sure if he is who he says he is because of the two stolen passports even though he has done business with this travel agency in Thailand for 2 or 3 years buying tickets on the phone that were then paid for always with cash for many individuals over the years. Were all these tickets for people with stolen passports? That's hard to say at present. So, likely the two traveling were at the very least criminals of one sort or another along with the man who said he was Iranian but could have been something else.
