I started to watch "True Detective" because I have always liked what Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey have done in movies and TV. However, I also found the subject matter extremely depressing. Are there are people as bad as are depicted in this movie? Likely. However, it's not something I really want to put my attention on for 8 episodes.
So, my experience of this whole series (8 episodes) was feeling like I was addicted to this series. I can't say I liked it because it was sort of like watching a train wreck in slow motion. (You kind of know what is coming and it freaks you out). But, just like watching a train wreck in slow motion it is really hard to avert your eyes. I found myself recording and deleting episodes before I watched them and then wanting (or needing) to know what happened next. Woody and Matthew really outdid themselves on this 8 part series so I think there are and will be many people that just won't be able to put this series down even though they might want to throw up many times by the end of it. Well done but scary as hell and very upsetting Detective work. Well Done!
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
