Are drones more positive or more negative for mankind?

I think drones can be compared to nuclear energy in this. They could extinct mankind or be very helpful to mankind.

They could be a great boon or its doom just as sure as nuclear power or nuclear weapons. In fact, I would now say the three most destructive nuclear incidents on earth have taken place in Japan: first Hiroshima and Nagasaki and now Fukushima which is going to spew radioactive water through the water table from the meldowns into the Pacific Ocean for the next 25,000 to 50,000 years because one of the Meltdowns was weapons grade plutonium being reprocessed. So, there is no present way to stop this continuation for 25,000 to 50,000 years. And if you understand water tables there is no way to stop the rain or to stop the water going underground back to the ocean known presently.

You would have to stop the water table completely down up to 1000 feet deep 1 mile to several miles before it reached Fukushima and the ocean which would literally kill all plant and animal life in that mile to the ocean, (except for the rainfall that fell directly on the land there that couldn't be stopped (unless you put a tarp 1 mile long so no water reached the ground for a mile before the Fukushima plant.)

So, drones are a little like the problem of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and Fukushima.

They will extinct mankind in the wrong hands.

Imagine North Korea with a drone that it tips with a nuclear weapon. It fires a drone from a submarine off the coast of California and nukes the city of Los Angeles and or San Francisco with a neutron bomb. This doesn't kill anyone that much but makes the city uninhabitable (both cities) for 100 or more years sort of like Chernobyl or Fukushima only a huge city of millions of people.

This is only one example of millions that drones could cause.

Right now, terrorists use people to blow themselves up.

But, in the future people won't need to blow themselves up to kill millions. They will just send in a nuclear tipped drone.

And they might send in 100 or 1000 nuclear tipped drones as terrorists until one gets through.

This is the future we all face right now here on earth from terrorists.

This is likely to occur within 100 to 200 years right now.

And it all started with the U.S. and the predator drone with Artificial intelligence.

But, where will it lead?

It's a terrible slippery slope to extinction.

It's up to all of us on earth what actually happens.

Extinction isn't for sure. We can prevent it or ignore what we all see and hide our heads in the sand until we all go extinct.

How can drones help us?

The ideas (just like with home computers, the Internet, smartphones etc. are all endless). In similar ways drones could be a boon for us all.

For example, you wouldn't need to ever go to a mall unless you wanted to because anything at all you order could be delivered to your front door by a drone.

However, also you might worry about a drone losing power or navigation and colliding with people on the ground. So, people would tend to be looking up whenever they heard the noise of little propellers spinning and whirring above their heads. And the most likely thing they would hit would be power lines that they didn't see while flying and then ricocheting off the power lines (bringing some lines down from the propellers slicing them and harming people on the ground by the live 1000 volt lines (usually fatal if you touch 1000 volts) or being cut up by still spinning propellers or just hit by the weight of a package and drone dropping suddenly 50 feet or so to the ground on top of your head while you walked down the street knocking you unconscious or your children.

Just remember, cars were wonderful to people when they were first designed before people and horses started to die from them too. However, we still use cars because they are more useful than not and likewise we still would use drones to deliver packages because it would be very quick for UPS, Fedex and all the other package delivery services worldwide.

However, with 3D printing people will start to more manufacture whatever they need more at home out of plastic or metal with vacuum scintering of metal objects in a 3d device. Over time both plastic and Metal scintering vacuum 3d devices will come down in price to where everyone owns one especially people that live a long way from a town or city to manufacture at home with a pattern literally any tool or thing or part that they need for anything they use on a farm or ranch or home.

Another thought: On major Drone delivery routes worldwide people wouldn't tend to walk that much there because of potential injury from a falling drone. So, in these major travel areas for drones for deliveries people likely would want to be in cars and public transportation rather than walking where they would tend to be more vulnerable to drones having a mishap and falling or crashing into them.
