This actually makes a lot of sense because this way Apple can stay in business making Iphones and the government will take the blame for 700 million Iphones that will have to be thrown away instead of putting Apple out of business.
However, it is only a matter of time now before all smart people start throwing their Iphones away because software that hacks an encryption like this never stays secret because it is worth billions and billions of dollars in the end to governments and criminal worldwide.
And so as identity theft from IPhones becomes more prevalent people are going to just start throwing away their IPhones. And within 10 years expect the same thing for all smartphones on earth to stop being worth having because of this. So, this next year you likely will see the first group throw away their Iphones and possibly not ever buy another because of the loss of encryption of everything they have on an Iphone worldwide including credit cards, airline tickets, you name it.
