If you look at the major religions of the world:
Christianity
Islam
Buddhism
Hinduism
And all the rest.
They all started from 10,000 years ago to a little over 1000 years ago with Islam. So, Islam is the youngest of all the religions listed here. And Christianity is the 2nd youngest.
So, my point of view is that with the advent of public and private educations worldwide the need for religions started to go away with education and technology.
Also, the quick end of all religions is being increased exponentially by Islamic Terrorists.
So, it is possible that most people by the end of this century here on earth will be atheists or Agnostics.
The Atheistic and Agnostic movement really got going in China and the Soviet Union during the 20th century when people were forced by law to be atheists or agnostics by those political states and to instead worship Communism or die.
Then the Soviet Union collapsed economically and so the Russian Orthodox Church has flourished ever since in Russia. Since China is still ruled by the communist party you still have 1.4 billion people forbidden (pretty much) to believe in God (at least publicly). So, in a sense the Chinese are still being forced to believe only in the Chinese Government which isn't really happening either. (not really).
But, right now the biggest movement towards atheism and agnosticism is in Western Culture. When the Soviet Union collapsed the real need for everyone to be Christian (in order to stand against Communism) went away.
As a direct result of this there are many less professing Christians in the U.S. and Europe than there used to be.
And this is increasing at a high school and college level with the primary cause being Islamic extremism and terrorists.
This turns many or most young people off Christianity that people can be this crazy in other cultures.
However, mostly Muslims are killing each others because it is mostly sectarian wars between Shiites and Sunnis now going on.
I'm thinking this eventually likely will kill about 100 million Shias and Sunnis during the rest of this century.
And this also will likely turn many millions of Muslims against all religions too.
So, in the end the likely result of all this is a very big change around the world at least in regard to Islam and Christianity by losing adherents of all their sects worldwide.
So, all the above is why I believe large organized religions are becoming obsolete during this century and the next.
They served their usefulness the most before people were as educated as they are now.
Now people can decide what to believe for themselves. And they might choose to believe almost anything.
And so they do.
So, the best way to put this is each person is their own religion now or this will become the tendency on into the future more and more as more and more people choose diverse types of educations worldwide.
This is only logical.
But, whether this is good or bad I would say it is both good and bad. Some people will do better in this environment and some people will just get completely confused and kill themselves slowly or quickly.
So, different types of people will survive in the future than have in the past.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
