It's important to protect your identity and the identities of your family and friends if you blog.
Obviously, you don't share exactly where you live or exactly where you are right now. You do not tell people your full name or even the vicinity you are in to protect yourselves and your families and friends. it's sort of the same problem as the fact that 1/2 of the calls you will receive on your phones in the next year will be Spam that you do not want. The same problem exists with giving too much information over the Internet.
Unless you are someone like Brad Pitt or a Rock and Roll personality that makes money on every hit you receive online or something like that that you are helped in your famousness by things written about you or photos taken of you or videos posted about you, you really don't need the aggravation of unwanted attention that can come when you aren't really careful what you put online.
Facebook will be a complete disaster regarding the privacy of anyone in your family for at least the next 100 years or more by the way and anything you posted there they own and can use (even if you thought you deleted it 15 years ago by the way).
So, thinking about what you want to share before you share it is important always. And if you cannot be self editing in this way maybe you shouldn't even start a blog in order to keep yourself and your family safe always.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
