Nick Paton Walsh Reported on Wolf on CNN this morning that the Russians are now using shoulder fired missiles and rocket propelled grenades. They used these shoulder fired missiles to bring down the two Ukrainian helicopters recently. They are also said to be using mortars and cannons against the Ukrainian army. So, though the Ukrainian army is winning many battles they don't tend to want to try to hold any ground because they don't want to dig in and be hit with rocket propelled grenades, missiles, mortars and cannon fire.

Knowing this it is obvious that the Pro-Russians are both military veterans and mercenaries and part of the Russian Army or KGB (FSB). Otherwise they wouldn't have advanced weaponry like this to use on the battlefield because rocket launchers, rocket propelled grenades, and other missiles and mortar round and cannons and cannon rounds are very expensive compared to a Kalashnikov sub machine gun which runs likely around $100 dollars  to $1000 or so in Europe at this time (depending upon the condition and age of the weapon).

To even buy the weaponry they are presently using on the Ukrainians would already have cost at least a million dollars or more already. And the bullets, rockets, and mortar rounds and missiles might take it higher. Then to hire Mercenaries to do all this would be very expensive too.

This is why it is not a bunch of people living in Russia (or Ukraine) doing this. This is millions and millions and millions of dollars worth of manpower, training and weaponry the kind only a large country like Russia can muster.
