The problem that a co-pilot crashing and airliner on purpose in the Alps will likely cause

The Privacy issue I think likely will make less and less pilots (when they learn about this issue) become pilots.

Already, their pay is being cut again and again. Often they are forced to fly long hours even when going through divorces or loved one's die or during serious breakups etc.

IF a pilot or co-pilot tells his superiors that he or she is having ANY issue whether that issue is physical or mental or both or other, he or she may be fired or let go.

So, if the pilot can get away with it non-reporting is the only way to keep your job. You either tough it out (whatever it is) work all the extra hours or you collapse under the stress, strain and difficulties you are experiencing.

Though it makes complete sense to me why he would want to kill himself because he knew soon they would find out about all his mental and vision loss problems pretty soon anyhow.

However, how many of you if you put yourself in his position would kill about 150 people along with you?

This is a pretty angry and despondent young man.

Also, he likely owed thousands of dollars to Arizona people who taught him to fly (student loans), knew without his job that he would go bankrupt because of this, just broke up with his girlfriend (for whatever the reason. So, for him his life was over because he didn't want to live without his girlfriend or being a pilot. Many people are this unadaptable. Possibly he was going slowly blind.

His choice was to die. But, why take a plane and a whole planeload of people with you?

This is the part that doesn't make any sense to me.

I realized I didn't fully address what the title said. So here goes.

This action by one co-pilot in the long run likely will mean less people will be interested in becoming pilots because more and more of their privacy will be taken away.

Remember, to be a pilot you have to be pretty macho and in control and not crack under any situation sort of like a Naval Captain. So, you are educated coordinated, well trained, well experienced (in other words you are exactly the same as a military officer).

People like this are very calm but very macho and self confident. People like this will not put up with any more loss of privacy.

The end result of this will be planes that are more and more and more self flying  drones.

This is obvious to me what is coming next as pilots are phased out and then they are just there so the passengers feel comfortable some human is there to watch everything that could bring them down if he or she had to.
