- Oblivion is a 2013 post-apocalyptic science fiction film based on Joseph Kosinski's unpublished graphic novel of the same name. The film was co-written, produced and ...I believe what is important about this movie (for me personally) is to understand that "What if drones like the ones in this movie got loose during a war and left the control of whatever side they were on and decided to kill every living thing on earth including humans? If you understand the concept of how software works in Artificial intelligence now present in all or most military air drones worldwide you begin to figure out what I'm getting at.So, the next time you watch "Oblivion" or the first or any Terminator Movie think about flying drones in this context. They aren't as dangerous to ALL Mankind if they are under the control of a benevolent democracy. However, what if they are under no one's control because nothing can shoot them down anymore and they are killing your family, your pets and everything else on earth without end because they are solar charged or wind charged or have hydrogen fusion as their source of power? Not being concerned about this logical eventuality is to be pretty stupid. (unless of course you advocate the extinction of all life on earth).
