NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Voters in four states will head to the polls for primaries today.
Democrats and Republicans will cast their ballots in Mississippi and Michigan. Republicans will also vote in Idaho and Hawaii.
The biggest prize in the turbulent race is Michigan. A Monmouth University poll showed GOP front runner Donald Trump with 36 percent of the Republican vote in Michigan — 13 points ahead of Ted Cruz.

Cruz was urging Republican voters in Michigan who aren’t behind Donald Trump to back his campaign, contending he’s the only one who can defeat front-runner Trump and keep him becoming the party’s nominee.
The Texas senator made a last-minute, late-night campaign stop in Grand Rapids on the eve of the state’s primary.

Cruz said he understands that voters are angry, but they shouldn’t take out their frustration by voting for Trump. He says Trump’s campaign contributions to Democrats have funded “Washington corruption” for decades.
Emerging as Trump’s strongest competitor, Cruz has accumulated the second-most delegates. He’s criticizing Trump for saying in last week’s GOP debate in Detroit that he is  “flexible” on policy positions.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton is 13 points ahead of Vermont senator Bernie Sanders.
In New York, a new Siena poll shows Clinton leading 21 points ahead of her Brooklyn-born opponent. Trump may also have a home-field advantage in New York — the same poll shows the businessman leading with 45 percent in the state.
