There is religion and then there is direct religious experience

These are completely different things. For example, I don't generally consider churches to be places of God. For me, places of God are like going to Yosemite National Park, Mt. Shasta, the ocean, the desert, the mountains. That is where I find God, not in a church.

But, there are holy places that are also in churches. For example, there is a place of Saints in Paris I have been to where the angels came right up to me and greeted me and told me how to behave. This was at 160 Rue du Bac, I believe in Paris where the non-decomposing body of St. Catherine de Laboure and two other saints are in Glass cases there. This is a true holy place. But, most churches are not really holy places like that.

So, if I want God I go to the beach or mountains or deserts or wherever I experience God naturally. Then I ask God or pray to God and God both hears and answers me and I am then okay.

God is a direct experience. If you are not having one then going to a church might not help either.

Also, don't let anyone come between you and your relationship with God because that is a mistake.

The more of a direct experience you can have with God and Angels that you can have like Jesus did the better off you are going to be.
