Or we are dead.
This is just the way life works. So, I like what the Tibetans say because it makes the most sense to me.
It is: "One should be kind to both friends and enemies, because through time often friends become enemies and enemies become friends."
So, it is in all our enlightened self interests to be kind to all beings because of this.
Because the Grace of God comes from kindness not from violence.
So, when I first heard this Buddist Prayer I understood how important it is to feel this way towards all Life in the Universe:
May ALL beings attain Bliss and the Cause of Bliss
May all beings be free from Suffering and the Cause of Suffering
May all beings never be without the Supreme Bliss
That is free from all near and far all grasping and aversion.
I have learned to experience this a lot of the time for all beings in the universe.
By doing this it makes it happen.
If you want something to happen you see it happening and eventually it does.
Over time this consciousness spreads out and out as more beings generate this heaven realm here on earth and beyond.
