3 of them were exposed by my grandson likely from Summer School. These were the first ones in Portland, Oregon. Unfortunately, we had driven up from the San Francisco area in California where we live which is about a 13 hour drive (two days usually) and couldn't see them physically except through a closed window talking to each other on cell phones which was pretty disappointing (especially after not seeing each other in person for about 1 year. The good news is likely my son and his family will fly down to where we live in late August to spend their vacation with us this year.
Then when we returned home I heard that my older daughter had gotten Covid too in Santa Barbara, then I also heard that my cousin and his wife who are in their 80s now both had Covid too at the same time. Luckily my daughter's husband had had Covid in April in Europe when he and his mother who he was visiting at the time had it at the same time so he didn't get it from my daughter so he could safely fly to the east coast on business there.
The point is: Wearing a mask in all public indoor places is really really important right now especially if you are over 45 or 50 years of age which is the age where you might have to go to the hospital if you get Covid.
Note: Even in the worst of Covid between 2020 and 2022 there were not 6 people that I knew with it at the same time even though we lost two friends from Covid during this period of time. So, be very careful out there so you don't expose friends or relatives who might be hospitalized or die from this or just lose a week or two of work or school from it.
